• The Manual Risk: Handheld routers chatter against thick aluminum, leaving jagged edges, rounded corners, and off-center slots that prevent the lock faceplate from sitting flush.

A door leaf requires machining on three distinct planes: the lock pocket on the thin edge, the keyed cylinder hole on the exterior face, and the thumbturn or handle rosette on the interior face.
