NAVIGA X 360S Edge-banding Machine

The NAVIGA X 360S Edge-banding Machine is equipped with a highly advanced combination of servo-driven mechanisms, automated adjustments, precision processing units, and intelligent diagnostic systems, all designed to deliver superior edge-banding performance, smooth material flow, and uninterrupted production.

Its workflow begins with the Servo-Controlled Entrance Fence, which moves precisely on linear guides using a servo motor and a backlash-free screw system. This allows the cutting depth for the Pre-Milling Unit to be set automatically from the control panel. The pre-milling system, powered by two 1.6 kW high-frequency motors operating at 9000 rpm, removes up to 3 mm from the panel edge to eliminate sizing cracks and create a clean lamination line. Before glue application, the Anti-Adhesive Agent Unit sprays a protective solution that forms a thin film on the top and bottom surfaces, preventing glue overflow from sticking and ensuring effortless cleaning in later stages.

To further enhance adhesion quality, the Infrared Preheating System warms the surface of cold panels just before gluing, preventing delamination and improving glue retention. Glue management is handled by the Adhesive Pre-Melting Unit, an inverter-controlled system that regulates glue quantity, minimizes contamination, reduces burnt glue defects, and maintains optimal flow by transferring pre-melted adhesive from a granule reservoir to the application pot.

Bonding strength is secured by Servo-Controlled Pressure Rollers, consisting of one large and four small rollers that automatically adjust to the band thickness to apply the ideal pressure. Straight and angular trimming is carried out by the Linearly Moving Saw Unit, which tracks panels moving at 20–25 m/min, providing smooth, defect-free cuts for edge bands from 0.40 mm to 3.0 mm.

The edge-finishing sequence begins with the Servo-Controlled Rough Milling Unit, which reduces excess banding to 0.5 mm and prepares the part for precision trimming. This is followed by the Servo-Controlled Fine Milling Unit, which ensures consistent edge quality throughout the day without requiring manual readjustment. Additional refinement is provided by the Servo-Controlled Radius Scraping Unit, which corrects imperfections using blades capable of 0.05 mm precision, producing a smoother radius and uniform edges. Glue traces are fully removed by the Glue Joint Scraper, which scans both sides of the panel before polishing.

A significant advancement in corner processing is introduced with the X360 Robotic Rounder Unit, which uses servo-driven axes and a direct-drive motor to rotate one tool 360° around all four corners. The system mimics the natural movement of a human hand for perfect ergonomic accuracy, ensuring consistent radius matching with the fine-milling profile even in high-speed, continuous production environments.

Surface treatment continues with the Cleaning Agent Unit, which restores the band color and prepares the part for polishing. The Buffing Unit completes the edge-band workflow by applying final polishing through rotating wheels, giving the workpiece a refined finish. Additional capability is provided by the Jumping Grooving Saw Unit, capable of producing both open-ended or closed channels ranging from 3 to 10 mm.

To ensure smooth transport and machine longevity, the system includes an Automatic Lubrication System that oils the caterpillar chain rollers and prevents heat-related wear. The Top Pressure System with V-Belt, featuring a 70 mm belt and pressure rollers, distributes force evenly across the workpiece without leaving marks even on high-gloss surfaces while maintaining stability at 20–25 m/min.

All operational controls are centralized through a 15" Touch Screen, where every unit can be managed individually. The interface provides manual override when needed and includes an advanced 3D Diagnostic System, which displays malfunctions with animated visuals and highlights the affected cabin using intelligent LED indicators. This enables operators to solve issues instantly without requiring service support.

For production monitoring, the machine stores performance data in Excel format, displays it directly on the control panel, and can transfer it to office computers when connected, allowing seamless integration with production management systems. Every unit on the machine can be controlled, monitored, and configured automatically through this central interface, ensuring a fully coordinated and highly efficient manufacturing process.
